What does an alternative school look like?
Alternative learning schools and programs are designed for students who are in danger of failing or dropping out at a traditional school. They are often stereotyped as having students who are dangerous, uncaring or lazy. The truth is far more complicated. Seventy-four such schools exist in North Carolina, and Davidson County High School is one. This video takes you inside its halls and classrooms where many of the kids want the same thing the school system wants: success. This is the first in an occasional series of glimpses inside these schools.
