Cima Sam - Val Sarentino

We reach and pass the last Obermarcher farm to find the parking lot 7.5 km from the junction that takes us off the main road to enter the Sarentino Valley. We follow a short stretch of paved road before joining trail 10A. We decide to first climb to the summit, then descend past the mountain hut. Actually, on the way up, we'll pass near the Ottenbacheralm, but without skirting it. We then head towards the summit, passing one patch of snow after another, until we reach the junction at just over 2,000 meters. We'll continue right on trail 10B, while left on trails 10 and 14 could lead to the Mittagerhutte on the slopes of the Merano 2000 ski area. In some places, the snow is impossible to avoid, so we pick up Nicole and make our way through the dips. At the summit, there's a beautiful, expansive 360-degree view, but it's impossible to stay there eating our sandwich because of the unpleasant breeze. We eat lunch under cover and then return to the cross for the ritual photos. I even fly the drone, but I crash, despite the wide open spaces... Fortunately, no damage occurred and I can continue filming. Then, when I return to the cross to reunite with my women, I slip and get my behind soaked... again, no more serious problems. We begin the descent on trail 10B that will take us to the Malga. Despite the southeast exposure, we found some snow that hindered the route, but the girls seemed to be having fun. The worst thing (but one we knew) was that we had to face another climb, about a kilometer long. Once we got past that, all that remained was to descend to the Ottenbacheralm and rejoin the morning trail, all the way back to the parking lot.
