Sen. Comerford shares more on energy affordability legislation

On July 1, the Massachusetts State Senate debated and passed legislation focused on energy affordability in the Commonwealth. This legislation would result in $14 billion in savings for consumers over 10 years while preserving Mass Save and preventing nuclear power development. State Senator Jo Comerford (D-Northampton) shares more about where these savings will come from, three amendments she filed that have been adopted, and other key provisions in the bill, including a provision to ban utility shutoffs during a heatwave, which she's led on with State Representative Mindy Domb (D-Amherst). The legislation passed the Senate by a vote of 32-8.
