Realizing his soulmate was dead, Salmon reported the incident to the police. Under the pretext of visiting, on Wednesday (April 29, 2026), AF visited his in-laws' house, Dumaris, in Rumbai District, Pekanbaru, Riau. He entered the house first, accompanied by his female friend, identified as L. At first glance, nothing seemed out of place. AF even respectfully kissed his mother-in-law's hand. They chatted casually in the living room. Shortly afterward, the male perpetrator, identified as SL, entered the house, followed by another male perpetrator. SL, posing as an online motorcycle taxi driver, attempted to collect Rp 300,000 from the victim's child. However, SL, already carrying a wooden block, swung it at the victim. The perpetrator was then shocked to see a CCTV camera. SL smashed the surveillance camera with the swing of his block.
