Hello, Thank you for tuning in 💕 I hope you’re enjoying/enjoyed the video. As promised, here is a brief explanation. Dasain, also known as Dashain, is one of the most important and longest Hindu festivals celebrated within Nepali communities worldwide. The celebration of which comes from Hindu mythology and legends; the victory of good over evil, whether it be marking Goddess Durga’s triumph over the demon Mahishasura or Lord Rama’s victory against the demon King Ravana. Families come together to offer prayers, share blessings, and celebrate with feasts, new clothes, and joy. Elders place tika (a mixture of rice, yogurt, and vermilion) and jamara (barley grass) on the foreheads of younger family members to bless them with prosperity and protection. Similar to Chinese New year celebrations, the younger members of the family often receive money as blessings from their elders :D. Tihar,is similar to India’s Diwali but celebrated with different customs and traditions. Both honor light over darkness and have Hindu mythological roots. Tihar spans five days, each dedicated to animals like crows, dogs, and cows, and to siblings on Bhai Tika. Homes glow with lights & diyas and joyful gatherings as Bhailo and Deusi groups fill the nights with their music. ………………….. This October was a sweet warm embrace, with a bitter goodbye. Like the thumbnail says; it is that way because i have no idea where I’ll be next year. I will come back. No doubt. Nevertheless, it will probably the last time I will get to slow down and hold everything within my gaze while having the pleasure to pause. It is something very close to my heart. My home. I don’t think we really have that cozy, fuzzy socks, pumpkin spice fall in our towns (not saying im not guilty of loving it lol) I think it gets more bustling and chaotic..but like…..bustling as in bustling with homecooked food, Bhailoni/Deusi practice way and chaotic as in together in chaos typa way. And also the weather, the plants, the sky, the sun ..everything seems to be more forgiving this time of the year. Maybe, two years earlier I’d totally trade in Dasain for a Gilmore Girls Fall or whtv (yes, id like that Pumpkin spiced latte pls) not so sure about it now.
