Spain's first autonomous on-demand bus is now operating at Mercamadrid, marking a major milestone for connected, autonomous and zero-emission mobility in Europe. The service was featured on Buenos Días Madrid (Telemadrid) on 8 July 2026, showcasing how innovative transport solutions are being deployed in real-world urban environments. Developed as part of the MOBILITIES FOR EU project, the fully electric autonomous bus provides flexible mobility for workers and visitors travelling across Mercamadrid, one of Europe's largest wholesale food distribution centres.
