Soaring Adventures: Cross Country Lesson to Joshua Tree

This is my longest and most detailed cross country coverage. Do You like the longer, more detailed soaring videos? Let me know in the comments. I'll take you though completing a task and showing the flight computer (Naviter Oudie) as I progress along the course. I'll discuss cloud clues to where the lift is found and strategy on what course to take. Alternates are pointed out or shown on the flight computer simulation (green squares indicating the required L/D to reach them at safety altitude). The trip takes us from Warner Springs south to the Wolf Reserve (south of Julian), then north to Mt San Jancinto, where I'll cross over to San Gorgonio and work to climb from low arrival point. From there I head east toward Joshua Tree National Park and south of Twenty Nine Palms to 45 miles southeast of Gorgonio. then back navigating a convergence line while maintaining required cloud clearance to climb for crossing the Banning Pass back to San Jacinto. Following the clouds to Toro Peak on the way back makes for a nice little detour on the way home.
