The Ultimate Northern Italy Train (and minibus) Circuit: Mountains, Lakes, and Villages

Two lines run north into the mountains in Lombardy. One goes up to Tirano (where the famous Bernina line commences) past the beautiful Lake Como. Another rises up past Lake Iseo to the town of Edolo. And it just so happens the A061 Minibus service runs through the mountains between Tirano and Edolo, meaning that you can make both lines into a scenic circular route or a "round robin", as they say here in the UK.
