Kaval Sviri - Stanford Talisman Gala 2018

“Kaval Sviri,” whose title translates to “the flute plays,” is a Bulgarian folk song which shows the universality and joy of young love. Its lyrics in part translate to “The kaval is playing, mother... If it’s a boy from our village, I’ll love him from dawn till dusk. If it’s a boy from a neighboring village, I’ll love him forever!”
