ASSIM MORREU O ATOR BILL BIXBY (O INCRÍVEL HULK)

Among his many other roles in his more than thirty-year career, he became well-known when he starred in the television series The Incredible Hulk, which originally aired from 1978 to 1982, in which he both acted and produced. After the series ended, he appeared in television films that continued the Hulk's story until his death, told in the 1990 film The Death of the Incredible Hulk. He also appeared as a cartoon in an episode of The Fairly OddParents. Bixby's father died of a heart attack in 1971, a month before Bill's first wedding. His ashes were scattered in the Pacific off the coast of Malibu. Bixby was married three times. His first marriage was to actress Brenda Benet on July 4, 1971. She gave birth to their son, Christopher, on September 25, 1974. Benet starred with him in the series The Magician in 1973, appeared in an episode of The Love Boat in 1977, and appeared in the series The Incredible Hulk in 1980, shortly before their divorce. On March 1, 1981, Bixby's six-year-old son, Christopher, died suddenly of a rare throat infection (epiclotitis). His ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean near Malibu, like his grandfather. Brenda Benet committed suicide in April 1982, at the age of 36, by shooting herself in the head, after falling into a deep depression over her son's death. In 1989, Bill met Laura Michaels, who had worked on one of his Hulk films. They married a year later in Hawaii. In early 1991, Bixby was diagnosed with prostate cancer and underwent treatment. He had divorced that same year. In late 1992, friends introduced him to artist Judith Kliban, widow of B. Kliban, a cartoonist who had died of a pulmonary embolism. Bixby and Judith married in late 1992, just six weeks before he ended his directorial duties on the series Blossom. In early 1993, after rumors began circulating about his health, Bixby revealed his illness to the public, discussing it and the energy required to keep him alive. As a result, he made several guest appearances on shows such as Entertainment Tonight, The Today Show, and Good Morning America, among many others. Bixby's cancer progressed and he was diagnosed as terminal. On November 21, 1993, six days after his final assignment on the series Blossom, he died of complications from prostate cancer in Century City, California. His wife and longtime friend Dick Martin were at his side. His ashes are buried at the Kliban Maui estate. A week after his death, Judith's family built a private memorial for the actor.
