Máté Bella — Celestial Pathways

Celestial Pathways (Csillagösvények) was composed for the 150th anniversary of the Liszt Academy and makes use of the timeless variation form of the passacaglia. The piece is built on a constantly recurring musical fabric that serves as a symbolic “seed,” nourishing the unfolding layers, motifs, and timbres. The musical idea slowly expands until it grows into a sky-reaching tree: its roots grounded in tradition, its canopy stretching toward the future—tracing celestial pathways across the sky.
