Uzbek dance Lazgi (or Lazgi) is one of the most colorful and recognizable traditional dances of Uzbekistan, especially typical for the Khorezm region. Musical instruments such as doira, karnay, surnay set an energetic tempo. 4. Dance of the soul Lazgi is considered to be a "dance of the soul and body". It symbolizes liberation from anxiety, the joy of life and inner harmony. In some interpretations, one can see elements depicting the interaction of man with nature, animals, and the sun. 5. Performance The dance can be performed by both women and men. Men's Lazgi is usually more rhythmic and sharp, while women's Lazgi is smooth and graceful. National costume is often used: for women - long bright dresses decorated with embroidery, for men - a chapan and a skullcap. 6. Modern meaning Today, Lazgi is actively performed at concerts, holidays (for example, Navruz), weddings. It is also studied in choreographic schools as part of the national heritage.
