Nintendo Promotional VHS part 5 of 10: Star Fox 64 (1997)
In an effort to push video content out to its consumers in the mid to late 90s, Nintendo distributed VHS tapes, often free of charge, via mail and retail outlets. These videos showcased select games and consoles in an attempt to market them to target audiences using contrived plots and over-the-top actors. This video (part 5 of 10) presents "Star Fox 64" which features over-the-top adult actors that represent spies from SEGA and Sony who have taken Mario ransom. In exchange for Nintendo's beloved mascot, they want information regarding Nintendo's newest game for the N64, Star Fox 64. In order to get it, they capture some Nintendo representatives and grill them about the game. They reluctantly divulge details about the game as well as the new Rumble Pak accessory over game play footage of Star Fox 64. To find out what happens to Mario as well as see a sizzle reel of other upcoming games for the N64, you'll have to watch the video!
