Yet Another Way To Use Carbon Felt With Your Trangia

Last week while my wife and I were out taking a little hike we stopped for lunch. She said since I did all this baking for YouTubers that I could bake something for her. Yikes! Wouldn't you know that all I had with me for a burner was a Trangia and the Evernew Titanium Cross Stand. With that setup I can't use the simmer ring to keep the heat down so I don't burn what I'm trying to back. So I thought maybe I could use a carbon felt (fiber) disk I had in the kit to block some of the flames and cut the heat. Turns out the carbon felt didn't cut the flame. In fact it seemed to make the Trangia burn even hotter so that I almost burned what I was baking. What I'm doing in this lab is testing what the carbon felt (fiber) does to the flame by running two boil tests. First test without the disk and the second test with. Surprisingly the test run with the disk came to a boil about 2 and a half minutes faster.
