Beetlejuice (also known as Betelgeuse) is a trickster and mischievous ghost. He is the main antagonist of the first Beetlejuice movie, the main protagonist of the animated TV series, and of the sequel. During the Black Death, Betelgeuse was a grave robber who married Delores, who poisoned him to gain immortality, but he killed her with an axe. As a ghost in the Netherworld, he became a powerful and perverted entity known as Beetlejuice and became an assistant to advisor Juno. However, he decided to become a Bio-Exorcist, a job dedicated to expelling humans from ghost properties, causing him to be banished by Juno with the curse of being summoned if someone said his name three times.
