U-Bahn Hamburg: Bauarbeiten für die Linie U5 City Nord – September 2024 (mit Flugverkehr)

English subtitles available – Construction of underground line U5 at Hamburg, City Nord – In Hamburg, at Überseering, work at the excavation pit is under way for City Nord station of the future underground line U5. For this purpose the western part of Überseering street is closed. In this video you can see the construction site from various positions, first the southern, then the northern part. On this day many planes passed above the construction site as one of the approach paths of Hamburg airport leads along here. City Nord is an office district in northern Hamburg. The first office buildings date from the 1960s. Many pedestrians' bridges and walkways above street level are typical of this quarter. Car traffic and pedestrians were meant to be independent of each other. According to current plans, the first section of line U5 will be opened in 2033. This section will be almost 6 km long. It will have 6 stations: Bramfeld, Steilshoop, Barmbek Nord, Sengelmannstraße, City Nord and Borgweg .
