Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department responds to vacant commercial building fire, turns to 3rd alarm

JFRD unit rolls up to a large vacant commercial building with smoke rolling out of it...a structure fire was called, with a second alarm dispatched immediately...this then turned into a third alarm as crews searched for and located the fire, searched the entire building for potential victims, advanced hose lines and extinguished the fire. This building has sat vacant for a number of years...it is a commonplace for the homeless and vagrants to seek shelter. A fair amount of old furniture and trash had accumulated within the building and subsequently ignited causing the fire. Fortunately there were no injuries reported at this fire.
