Proof of the Fact that det(AB)=(det A)(det B); Properties of Determinants
Part 19, Honors Linear Algebra and Multivariable Calculus, Math 340 This is the nineteenth of a series of videos for the Honors Linear Algebra and Multivariable Calculus course that I teach at the University of Maryland. The course involves some proofs along with the discussion of linear algebra and multivariable calculus. In this video I talk about the relation between row operations, matrix multiplications and determinants. I also prove the determinant is multiplicative and that the determinant of the transpose of a matrix is the same as the determinant of the matrix itself. Row Operations and Matrix Multiplications: 0:20 det(AB)=(det A)(det B): 6:10 det(A^T)=det(A): 17:00
