Velvet Falls, Middle Fork of the Salmon, 4.47 2024-06-10

Whitewater Kayaking Velvet Falls Rapid The Middle Fork of the Salmon River 4.47 the morning we ran this. This is the rapid that everyone was worried about. We had heard the high water line was very sketchy. Obviously the wood river right creates a pretty big hazard. The holes river left didn't look great for a kayak, but they were apparently fine for a raft at this level. The run out was somewhat shallow. I'm not sure how this will go for folks on the river right now that the water is significantly lower.
