SIDEWAYS dominoes… good or bad idea? [CLOSED]

It’s time for another Collaborative Community Compilation! I challenge you to build and topple your most creative sideways domino project! Place the dominoes on their long sides and see how it changes the way they topple! Submit your falldown video, and I’ll put together a highlight reel for our next Collaborative Community Compilation :) TIPS: TEST how sideways dominoes topple on your floor surface! You may need to adjust domino spacing depending on how they fall on your floor. Avoid very slippery/glossy building surfaces. This may make sideways dominoes more difficult to topple. For best results, build on grippy surfaces (non-slippery hard floor, carpet, yoga mat, etc.) I recommend 1cm spacing for sideways dominoes (a little over 1 domino thickness) When building turns out of sideways dominoes, ensure inner gap spacing is approx 8mm (1 domino thickness). If it’s too close, it may lock up when toppling. But again, test it to see how it works on your building surface! For maximum reliability, use 2 parallel 45 degree angled dominoes for turns instead of angling every domino slightly. For inspiration, watch these amazing sideways domino videos by ‪@Wdomino‬!    • Domino Long project      • Domino Project 4000 stones   RULES AND GUIDELINES: 🔹You are free to build anything you’d like, but in sideways domino style 😄 (build on the long edge rather than standing vertically on the short side) 🔹Your domino project should be majority sideways dominoes (I would estimate at least 85% are sideways) 🔹Normal standing dominoes may ONLY be used for domino tricks (for example, the “la ola” and “jumping rock” technique) and short lines of 5 dominoes or less. 🔹Builds should be 1 continuous setup (not a screenlink) 🔹Entries will be judged based on creativity and topple quality 🔹Only ONE is entry allowed per person (Families with multiple participants: please send an email to [email protected] with all the entries and we will add them!) 🔹Optionally: Feel free to record an intro if you’d like! “What’s up Domino Community, I’m [name/username] and today I’ll be attempting the Sideways Domino Challenge!” 🔹 Must be a new video 🔹 IMPORTANT: Film horizontally in widescreen (16:9) 🔹 Do not add music or additional watermarks to the video 🔹 Deadline to submit an entry is Tuesday, June 9, at 11:59PM ET 🔹 Must be 13 years or older or have a parent’s permission to submit your video 🔹 Have fun :) SUBMITTING YOUR VIDEO (2 steps - please read carefully): 1) Post your falldown video on YouTube or Instagram using the hashtag #H5dominocommunity in your caption.
