Is there ever any benefit to covering high miles in a day or so on tour?
I have frequently done in excess of 600 miles on my first day on a continental tour, sometimes feeling worse for wear as a result, but, satisfied I'd done something important for the rest of the tour. Is it always true that these mileages are a good idea though?
