A $210 300Ws Strobe??? NEEWER Q300 - But No TTL & HSS???

NEEWER sent me their Q300 Strobe. It's a 300Ws strobe and it performed every task I needed it to. But is it crippled right out of the box because it doesn't have HSS and TTL? When I first started my channel I only shot my strobes in HSS. I had done it for years. Then I finally found the Freewell V2 Variable CPL/ND that has an almost permanent home on my lenses. So now I primarily shoot at my sync speed. I rarely ever use TTL. But does a strobe need them to be a top performer?
