Taylor Swift Doesn't Want You To Paternity Test Her Songs

On April 28, 2026, the New York Times released an interview with Taylor Swift where she talked about her songwriting process. During this interview, she said that she finds it weird when people "paternity test" her songs - "that dude didn't write the song, I did!" This is not the first time she's said this, as she used that exact phrasing - paternity test - in the prologue to her 6th album, reputation, released in 2017. Ever since, I have seen swifties twist themselves into pretzels (iykyk) to find a way to say "she didn't mean what WE do", and ultimately twist her words 180° to say she was talking about gaylors. In this video I talk about the interview, the reactions, the reason why paternity testing is so boring, and the use of gaylors as a universal scapegoat for Taylor's fans to avoid acknowledging that she has told them she doesn't like their behavior multiple times, and they continue to ignore her.
