পটের সাজে মাকে বরণ করে আসানসোলের ইকরা গ্রাম | Asansol | Durga Puja In the village of Ikra in Jamuria near Asalsol, the worship of Goddess Durga is conducted in a unique way — through patachitra (traditional scroll painting). This nearly 300-year-old celebration brings together the local community and surrounding villages in the spirit of the Sharad Utsav (autumn festival). Although during Durga Puja the Goddess is worshipped in the form of a patachitra, in this Chattopadhyay family, the Goddess is revered year-round in the form of Bindubasini. The idol of Bindubasini, made of ashtadhatu (an alloy of eight metals), is worshipped daily.
