Interstate 68 eastbound

FULL LENGTH VIDEO Through northern West Virginia, I-68 connects Morgantown with Cumberland, via the freeway's continuation into adjacent Maryland. The National Freeway (I-68) connects the western Maryland panhandle with neighboring West Virginia and central/southern Maryland via I-70. The highway's name is a tribute to the old National Pike segment of US 40, which was formerly the main route for traffic in the area until the interstate's completion in 1991. The interstate also forms part of a major toll-free alternate route to I-70 for long-distance traffic between Maryland and Ohio.
