They catch the eye of smooth-talking car salesman Curtis Taylor Jr. (played by Jamie Foxx), who becomes their manager. Curtis propels them into the spotlight by making bold decisions: rebranding them as The Dreams, changing their sound, and controversially replacing powerhouse lead singer Effie with the more conventionally attractive Deena (played by Beyoncé). As they rise to fame, tensions build — friendships are strained, and personal sacrifices mount. This stars Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy with Beyoncé Knowles, Danny Glover, Anika Noni Rose and Keith Robinson in supporting roles.
