There is a lot more resturants and cute mall-like areas being built in Culver City, so it more "happening" than it used to be. Santa Monica - very expensive even for the low quality places, the closer to the ocean the more expensive. A lot of turists in the main areas. In my opinion an overated area. West Hollywood - A great area if you want to go out a lot, uber fairs will be less since the clubs are close by. The area is pretty safe but kind of pricy. Westwood - Safe area, very centraly located to EVERYTHING depending what you are looking to do in LA, pretty pricey but in my opinion worth it.
