AI, Atheists, and the Vatican's Dangerous Temptation

Tomorrow, Pope Leo XIV is unveiling his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, on the danger of artificial intelligence. But one detail should make Christians pause: one of the co-presenters is Christopher Olah, a self-described atheist. Should the Church make common cause with atheists to confront the danger of an AI future? Or are we repeating the mistake of Zedekiah, Abimelech, and others who turned to worldly alliances when God was calling them to faith? In this video, we examine AI not merely as a technological or social threat, but as a spiritual temptation: the temptation for man to turn to godless intelligence for counsel, power, and even practical submission. The deepest danger of AI may not be what it does to man. It may be what fallen man asks AI to help him become. Come, Holy Spirit.
