Is Software Engineering Still Worth It?

Software engineering has been my goal for years, but after spending time working as a web developer, AI developer, and data analyst, I've started seriously exploring Product Management and Technical Product Management as the next step in my career journey. In this video, I talk about why I'm making this shift, the realities of today's ultra-competitive tech job market, how artificial intelligence is changing the industry, and why I believe technical skills are becoming more valuable than ever. While I'm exploring Product Management, I'm not abandoning software engineering. My goal is to continue building projects, learning new technologies, developing AI skills, and positioning myself for Technical Product Manager roles that combine business strategy with technical expertise. One of the biggest lessons I've learned so far is that the best way to figure out what career path fits you is to actually try things. Build projects. Apply for internships. Attend hackathons. Join student organizations. Network with professionals. The more experiences you gain, the faster you'll learn what excites you and what doesn't. Whether you're pursuing software engineering, product management, data analytics, AI, cybersecurity, UX design, or another tech career, the key is getting hands-on experience and continuously adapting to industry changes.
