Day in the Life as a Medical SLP / Dysphagia Evaluations / Workday / Swallow Studies / Healthcare
Another peak into an average workday as a hospital-based Speech Pathologist. Spent the day evaluating patients to eat safely! I had an MBSS (Modified Barium Swallow Study) which is a moving X-ray swallow study that allows us to objectively measure someone's swallow. The healthcare system I work for follows IDDSI guidelines. IDDSI is the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative. IDDSI aims to provide common terminology for describing food and drink thickness.
