Add Darts To ANY Dress Shirt (ZERO Experience Needed)

This is step three in the process. In step one and two we measured and took in the side seams of this shirt. In step three we're going to be adding some darts to the back. Shirt darts are an incredible way to slim the back of the dress shirt, whereas taking in the side seams just addresses the front and the sides. For this step we need a sewing machine, some sewing pins, and an iron. Take your measuring tape and measure your shirt from armpit seam to armpit seam. On my shirts I like my darts to start 7 inches from the seam, but your mileage may vary. Then make a line with your pins, and put a pin at the bottom of your shirt. Pinch your shirt at those points and fold it over. That line is going to be the line we use to pin and dart our shirt. Measure it out and see how you feel about those measurements by trying your shirt on. Do you like it? Then take it off, flip your shirt inside out and re-pin it. Now just sew a straight stitch on the back where your pins are. Boom shirt darts! Easy huh?
