Alexander Eder from Nußdorf am Haunsberg in the Salzburg region ventilates his cowshed with a ventilation hose from Dr. Knopf & Oswald. After his cows repeatedly experienced problems with heat stress, the farmer opted for this unconventional solution. Experiments with various fans yielded unsatisfactory results. The heat stress hose, on the other hand, constantly brings fresh air into the barn, exactly where it's needed: to the cows in their cubicles and at the feeding area. We visited the farm and spoke with farmer Alexander Eder about his decision-making process and his experiences with the hose ventilation. Alexander Eder delivers his milk to Salzburg Milch GmbH.
