S5 E6 [4K] • My takeoff in a Robinson R44 helicopter from Lusikisiki Town, SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦

Video supplied by Dr Msimelelo Mgidlana. LZ used as a driving school during the day/week. Concrete surface slightly dusty but clear of larger FOD. Several flattened red traffic cones permanently bolted to the surface. OAT 14°C. Dew condensation overnight wiped down. 3/4 tanks. Preflighted, engine start & warm-up, magneto test, sprag clutch test, E/RRPM 101%, hydraulic test, low RRPM warning horn test, take-off, hover-taxi (a bit low, yes) and transition to forward flight. Rapidly rising terrain and high-tension powerlines ahead, so left turn and vertical speed over 500ft/min.
