I worked in Corporate America for 10+ years and at 32 I decided to leave Corporate America and take the jump into entrepreneurship, and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. I had many concerns myself about my age but I overcame them. The 3 things that hold people back from changing careers is: 1- Fear of failure. Most people are too afraid to take risks but if you don't take risks, your selling yourself short. You may be capable of so much more than what you're currently doing but because of your fear you won't live your life and your skills to the fullest potential. Failure will only make you stronger, not kill you. So take educated risks and do what your heart truly desires. 2 - Sunk Cost. Just because you spent so much time and money into your existing career doesn't mean you can't change. Whatever happened in your past is a "sunk cost." It already happened. Let it go and think about your future. 3 - Lack Of Confidence. This comes with you fixing your mindset. Your inner belief in your capabilities. Focus on building up your mindset, say daily affirmations, read mindset development books, and over time you will develop confidence. Also, as you start seeing success in your new career, your confidence will continue to build. I truly believe that you can succeed at any age in life. If you want to change your career, then just do it. Life is too short, don't live your life with regrets.
