To mark the 40th anniversary of the disaster, we are presenting a series of exclusive interviews with former employees of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. In our first episode, we sit down with Georgiy Titov, a long-time employee of the Chernobyl NPP. He began his career in Pripyat in the late 1970s, working his way up from the turbine department to the position of Shift Supervisor. On the morning of April 26, 1986, he arrived for his shift. He witnessed the destroyed Unit 4, the remaining units still in operation, the radiation dosimetrists, the alarms, and the first few hours of a reality no one could have previously imagined.
