The idea is pretty simple: I'm going to play in a single world and update it through every major version, basically experiencing 15 years of Minecraft history: from Infdev to the latest version. This is my 'Minecraft But It Updates' Longlay series! ⚙️ VERSION INFO: Infdev-20100327 We are starting at what is basically the game’s “Genesis Block”. Most people feel nostalgic for Beta 1.7.3 or Alpha 1.1.2 but we are going even further back for a reason. While older versions like Indev existed, Infdev-20100327 is special because it introduced the Alpha Level Format. Because of that, it’s the oldest version that can still be updated to modern Minecraft without any external converters. The game feels very different here. It’s basically empty. No mobs at all, just endless neon-green terrain. There are no caves yet, so if you want to mine you have to make your own tunnels. Physics are also broken: water don’t really work properly. It feels less like a normal playthrough and more like exploring an early, unfinished version of the game 🧘 THE LONGPLAY EXPERIENCE This video captures the raw unfiltered atmosphere of 2010.
