Today's Conservation Chat features special guest Stacey Engel. Stacey Engel is a PhD candidate in Molecular Biology at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Her work aims to better understand the immune response of free-ranging African savanna elephants (Loxodonta africana) to infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis. As part of her work, she is assembling a transcriptome for African elephants to facilitate future gene expression analysis and disease biomarker discovery.
