Jubilee Episcopal Church, July 12th

Jubilee Episcopal Church is a colorful, warm, multi-generational new congregation rooted in North Austin. Our name reflects our heart: a place where all are invited into the freedom and joy that life with God offers. We worship God through ancient structures of prayer + gathering (we call this “liturgy”) and in the process, we make generous room for childlike wonder and delight (for all ages). For the first half of worship, we feast on the living Word of God as given in Holy Scripture; we hear passages of the Bible read aloud, we say some back and forth to each other, and the priest preaches a sermon that usually lasts about 8-12 minutes.Then the feast crescendoes as we are all unite together around God’s Table in the Eucharist - you might have heard it called communion or the Lord’s Supper. Eucharist is Greek for “giving of thanks.” In this part of the service, we bless bread and wine in the name of Christ, where we remember and are re-membered into Christ’s Body.
