Tunnel Vision 5.7 (pitch 2 & 3) - Climbing Red Rock Canyon, NV

POV climbing pitches 2 and 3 of Tunnel Vision in Red Rocks! 0:00 Highlight and start of pitch 2 2:20 Stepping right out of first chimney 4:41 Pocketed narrow chimney up to anchor 6:59 Devin starting up pitch 3, then me following using wide chimney technique 8:55 Getting into the more narrow chimney - wings and heeltoes Tunnel Vision is a classic trad climb in the shade. It is varied and has a really unique tunnel pitch where you climb into and through a chimney at a low grade but with minimal trad protection. Headlamp useful! I lead pitch 2, and followed pitch 3. The second pitch started with a steep feeling chimney, with lots of features, and then pulled around the corner into another easy face to chimney section. It ended at a bolted anchor at the base of a wide intimidating looking chimney. Lots of people exit the chimney and face climb up, but we stayed in the chimney to offwidth. When following I used wide chimney technique for the first part of pitch 3, and then it got more narrow and I used a combination of heeltoes, chicken wings and backsteps to make my way up. Fun pitch! A bit hard to protect for the grade, but an adventure. Route info: Tunnel Vision 5.7 at Angel Food Wall in Red Rock Canyon, NV. Trad route, 770 feet, 6 pitches, walk off
