Dentro la nuova nave Gnv Virgo (VIDEO): il battesimo e il primo rifornimento di Gnl

The Port of Palermo served as the backdrop for the christening ceremony of GNV Virgo, transforming the dock into a stage overlooking the sea. The evening was conceived as a spectacular event, rather than a simple formal ceremony, to mark the entry into service of the newest vessel in the GNV fleet. The ship, illuminated and moored a few meters from the dock, was the visual centerpiece of the event. The evening was hosted by Giuseppe Fiorello, who guided the audience through the various moments of the show, alternating storytelling, rhythm, and attention to the symbolic meaning of the christening. The most anticipated moment was the godmother's arrival. Federica Pellegrini, an icon of Italian sports, christened GNV Virgo, sealing the bond between the ship and the sea with a gesture full of symbolic value. The evening was further enhanced by a performance by Eleonora Abbagnato, star of the Paris Opera Ballet and director of the Rome Opera Ballet. Her elegant and measured performance created a striking scenic contrast with the mass of the ship behind it, uniting art and industry in a single glance. In attendance were the top management of GNV and the MSC Group, including Executive Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago and CEO Matteo Catani, along with representatives of national and local institutions. Among them were the Mayor of Palermo, Roberto Lagalla, representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, and the Western Sicilian Sea Port System Authority. The evening reaffirmed the bond between GNV and Palermo, a city central to the company's strategies and a point of reference for its main lines. A christening constructed as a public story, designed to engage the city and illustrate, through performances, the role of the ferry as a living part of the local area.
