Filmed in November the days are short and weather can be hit and miss but we are lucky to have some sunshine on this trip albeit briefly. This drive takes us to the most westerly part of Shropshire where the road takes us into the county of Powys in Wales, originally this would be Montgomeryshire before it all changed but locals still use the old county name. The trip takes us past Ceri Forest, a very large forest with walking areas as many forests have, the forest is also associated with the Kerry Ridgeway a 15 mile path stretching from cider house farm near the village of Kerry in Powys to Bishops Castle in Shropshire. This part of Shropshire is very quiet compared to the eastern part of the county, less traffic and everything moving a slower pace, mostly.
