How to Draw Expressions

Caution: children should use child-safe art supplies. There are lots of dynamics at play when you draw an expression - even a subtle one. In my latest tutorial, I'll teach you how to draw a classic, animation style smile on a pretty girl character. You'll notice that the smile is asymmetrical, which gives it life. The eyebrows and the eyes work in concert, in order to create a push-pull effect on the left side (screen left) side of the face. Therefore, the left side crushes and the right side expands. This the effect of making the face appear malleable, which is a pleasing attribute. For this lesson, I am only going to draw the guidelines and features of the face, so we can concentrate on the expression. So now you can see that a smile isn't just a smile. there's a lot more that goes into it! I hope you enjoy this demo, and that you subscribe. Thanks for watching!
