The Dong Khoi Ben Tre was a revolutionary uprising against the Republic of Vietnam Government and its allies. The movement began on the morning of January 17, 1960 in three communes: Dinh Thuy, Phuoc Hiep, and Binh Khanh in Mo Cay district, Ben Tre province; then spread throughout the province and the entire South. From the Dong Khoi movement, the revolutionary forces grew stronger and led to the birth of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam in late 1960.
