Creepy Night in Kochi 🫤 | India Solo Travel Vlog 🇮🇳

In October 2025 I travelled to Kochi, Kerala, in southern India. Here is a vlog covering my last day in Kochi exploring the city, meeting locals and getting the bus to the seaside town of Allepey! I started my day talking about the events of the night before, I had moved to a guesthouse to have a break from hostels for a bit, the guesthouse owner seemed friendly but then invited me to drink vodka with him and started to hit on me. Then in the nighttime was lurking outside my room and texting and calling me in the middle of the night, it was a creepy experience and really annoyed me and made me feel vulnerable. I talk about how I have experienced this a few times because I'm a solo female traveller, and how this makes me so angry! I decided to visit St Francis Church, one of the oldest churches in Kerala. I learned a bit about the Portuguese history in Kerala (both the positive - how they brought tomatoes and chilli, and the negative, how they forced people to convert to Catholicism and were very brutal). I talk a bit about Vasco D'Gama and ask my viewers whether they think the square in Kochi should still bear his name? I visit Vasco D'Gama square and see the Chinese fishing nets along the bay and get and ice cream and share my thoughts. After this I walked to a cafe in Fort Kochi (Lila's Cafe) and had a nice tea and cake and read my book - A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry - its fantastic, I highly recommend! I then walked to a more local area south of the city to get a good value curry. After my dinner I headed back into the touristy area of Fort Kochi and got talking to Ahsan, a nice guy who owns a gift shop, who is a Kashmiri Keralan! We went for some Keralan street food, pineapple with chilli, spicy peanuts, soda and fries! And had a nice chat on the beach. It was a nice way to spend my last night in Kochi. The next morning I get some more local food - a very tasty korma at Mary's Kitchen - and then get the local bus to Allepey. It was a bit confusing finding the bus but my tuktuk driver helped me which was very kind of him. Once on the very good value, but bumpy(!) bus, I am greeted by an older man who is very interested in my filming and talking to me. An argument break out between him and the other passengers - I do not understand what is going on - but he is asked to leave the bus. I make it to Allepey, check into my very nice hostel (Dutch House Hostel) and walk to the beach for sunset. Check out my next video where I explore more of Allepey, including the beaches, the backwaters and I get invited to a Hindu festival! #kerala #kochi #fortkochi #keralatrip #keralatravel #keralavlogger #kochivlogger #indiatravelvlog #indiavlog #indiatravel #backpackingindia #solofemaletraveler #solofemalenomad #solotravel #funnytravelvlog #travelvlogger #travelling #indiavlog #indiavlogs
