Joe Elliott's crazy night out with David Bowie, Bono & The Edge in Dublin | The Six O'Clock Show
Joe Elliott of Def Leppard chats about living in Dublin in the 1980s and his first time meeting U2's Bono. He explains how much he enjoyed living in Dublin and tells the story of the time Bono introduced him to David Bowie without a prior warning. He explains how Bono had invited him to a barbecue and out of nowhere, introduced him to his hero. Joe was shocked to be meeting somebody he had idolised for years. Half way through the night, David Bowie realised that The Edge wasn't there as he was at a birthday meal in Dún Laoghaire. They decided to pile into Bono's Mini and drive to Dún Laoghaire to surprise The Edge at the restaurant. They all ran into the restaurant to sing happy birthday and then left and went back to Bono's house. Martin King jokes about how funny it would have been if The Guards had pulled them over when they were in the car. David Bowie's assistant Coco went 'mental' as she thought that they had kidnapped David but they had to explain to her that it was actually the other way round. #SixVMTV #JoeElliott #DefLeppard #DavidBowie #Bono #MartinKing #UnaHealy
