On October 15, at 12:50 PM, the kitchen and bedroom of the Shakhobov family's home on Zarkaynar Street collapsed. No one was injured. This is the second house in two weeks to be destroyed in the historic part of Tashkent due to construction work to create a tourist street. A few hours after the second house collapsed, we returned to the Hastimom neighborhood to speak with residents and representatives of the Almazar district administration. Our report explains why houses are collapsing on Zarkaynar Street, whether residents will be compensated for the damage, and what financial instruments are being proposed.
