Hiking on São Miguel | Poço Azul | Azores

I am exploring the region around the Poço Azul ("Blue Well") today. It is located in northern São Miguel, near the town of Achadinha and there is a beautiful park around it. Ilha de São Miguel is part of the Portuguese island group of the Azores, a subtropical hiking paradise that you just have to see! In this park and in the area near by you get to see beautiful waterfalls. The most popular attraction and a place really worthwhile visiting is the deep blue pond Poço Azul in the middle of the Jungle west of Achadinha. East of Achadinha there are more rivers and valleys and a magnificent stretch of coastline to explore. It's a beautiful region with a lot of hiking trails. I have combined a couple of them on this day. There are more beautiful trails to explore in this region and some really nice bays and cliffs to see. São Miguel is the perfect place for anyone who loves nature and the outdoors!
