Hey guys! We just arrived in Nassau, Bahamas, and honestly, we had no idea it was going to be THIS beautiful! After traveling from Saint Lucia through Canada, we made our way down to the Bahamas for one of our most memorable Caribbean adventures yet. We checked into the White House, right on the beach—it completely blew us away! Massive kitchen, multiple bedrooms with bathrooms, and incredible beachfront views. Our first stop was Blackbeard's Lookout Tower—where the infamous pirate watched for ships to rob. Not everyone gets to see this hidden gem! Next, Paradise Island and the luxurious Atlantis Resort—looks exactly like Dubai's! It's the Bahamas' second-largest employer. Michael Jackson was the first to stay in their top suite at $25,000/night with a 4-night minimum—$100,000 total. Michael Jordan and Oprah have homes here! We saw conch being cleaned—still ALIVE! They stay alive 4-6 hours after being separated from their shells. Fun fact: conch is protected in many places due to overfishing, but here it's open season. We also saw venomous lionfish, which are pests. The Three Forts Fort Fincastle is shaped like a boat to intimidate enemies. Fort Charlotte is the largest with cannons, tunnels, and a moat. Fort Montagu saw the most action. Queen's Staircase This cascade of 65 steps (representing Queen Victoria's 65-year rule) was hand-carved by 600 slaves over 16 years with no breaks or machinery—an escape route from Fort Fincastle. Bahamas Facts Nassau: 320,000 people (70% of Bahamas' 400,000 total). 700 islands and 2,400 cays, only 30 inhabited. Flag colors: aquamarine (ocean), gold (sun/resources), black (strength of Bahamian people). Pirates of Nassau Pirating wasn't illegal back then! But when pirates stole from British ships, the Brits sent a governor with an ultimatum: join the good side or hang. All 300 pirates got hanged. The Pirate Museum tells this story. We explored the Downtown Straw Market, a chocolate factory with major Christmas vibes, grabbed beef patties, and visited the National Art Gallery. I wanted to visit Nassau because of Outer Banks! But they actually filmed in Barbados (check out those videos!).
