« Le paysage n’est pas la nature », rencontre entre Eva Jospin et Pierre Wat

“Landscape is not nature. It exists only for humankind, and humankind seeks to leave its own mark upon it.” Pierre Wat Winner of the prestigious Pierre Daix Prize for Art History in 2018, Pierre Wat, writer and historian of contemporary art at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University, accepted Eva Jospin’s invitation to discuss his book, “Peregrinations: Landscapes Between Nature and History” (Hazan Publishers). In it, the author develops, with the support of masterpieces, a new and personal interpretation of the history of landscape in painting and photography during the 19th and 20th centuries. This event took place in conjunction with Eva Jospin’s exhibition “Galleria” at the Museum of Hunting and Nature.
