Toyota RAV4 (2019-2025): How To Use Backup Camera? Guide Lines And Three Different Backup Modes!

This video will show how to use the backup camera in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 Toyota RAV4. When you put the Toyota RAV4 into reverse gear, the backup camera transmits the image to the screen of the main display. Two lines on the sides are called vehicle Width Guide Lines. They show the width of the vehicle. The line in the middle indicates the center of the vehicle. Two lines in the middle, parallel to the bumper, are called Distance Guide Lines. The further line indicates a point approximately 3 feet or 1 meter from the edge of the bumper. The closer line is approximately 1.5 feet or half a meter away from the bumper. Besides the guide lines, there are the Display Mode Switching Buttons on the left. They will allow you to switch between Regular Rear View Mode and Wide Rear View Mode. On the right, there is the Guide Line Switching button. There are three different modes for backing up: 1. The Estimated Course Line Display Mode. In this mode, all lines will turn together with the steering wheel. 2. The next mode is called Parking Assist Guide Line Display Mode. This mode is recommended for those who are comfortable parking the vehicle without the aid of the Estimated Course Lines. There are the Width Guide Lines and the Distance Guide Line. We have two new lines in this mode. They are called Parking Assist Guide Lines. These lines show the path of the smallest turn possible behind the vehicle. Basically, if you don’t want to see white lines that turn together with the steering wheel, you can choose this mode. 3. The third mode is called Distance Guide Line Display Mode. This is the most basic mode. Only the Distance Guide Line is displayed. This mode is for those who want to see as little extra information on the display as possible. Please keep in mind that distance guide lines are displayed according to flat surfaced objects, such as lines on the road. The distance to the three-dimensional objects, like trucks with a flatbed, that stick out, for example, may be different. You cannot rely only on only the backup camera; you always have to use rear-view mirrors as well. And if you are not sure about the exact distance to the objects behind you, it is always a good idea to get out of the vehicle and examine the situation or have somebody else help you out when you back up.
